 | FOCAL POINT |
1 |
- choose the very best photo for the focal point
- select a photo that best sums up the event
- double mat the picture
- place this photo on the left hand side (if doing a 2 page layout)
|
 | PAPER |
2 |
- examine the colors in your photos, select complimentary colors
- for a 2 page layout, you'll need 2-3 solid colors and 1 pattern page
- make one page a solid color, the opposite page a pattern page
- mount the photos on a solid color
|
 | EDIT PHOTOS |
3 |
- flip thru all your photos from the event and keep your favorites
- you'll need 3-4 photos per page
- if you have 6-8 photos you can setup at two page spread
|
 | CROPPING |
4 |
- to best tell the story, crop your photos to eliminate unwanted information in the pictures
- use a variety of shapes (unless having all circles or squares adds to the layout)
- use your paper trimmer and I love the Creative Memories cutting system for circles, ovals, etc.
- don't forget to trim your paper for your pages if placing them on pages a little smaller than 12x12
|
 | LAYOUT |
5 |
- now it's time to arrange the photos on your pages
- place the focal point first, it should be the one you double matted
- think symmetric and balance the images
- don't forget to leave remove for the title and journaling
|
 | JOURNAL |
6 |
- be sure to write down everything you can remember about the event
- include the good and the bad
- it's nice to use the computer, but remember to have some journaling in your handwriting
|
 | TITLE |
7 |
- this will be the page topper
- be creative
- you can use stickers, stencils, and die cuts
|
 | EMBELLISHMENTS |
8 |
- now that you have your page layout, position embellishments to complete the page
- you can use stickers, die cuts, torn paper, brads, ribbon, etc.
